Deutsche Boerse could start new merger attempt with LSE - report
Deutsche Boerse, the listed German stock exchange operator, could attempt to merge with listed UK rival LSE again, Die Welt reported. The German daily cited Reto Francioni, chief executive at Deutsche Boerse, as saying that his company is keeping all options open, but will not partake in speculation. Francioni made clear in the article that the takeover of LSE by listed US stock exchange operator Nasdaq has not happened yet. Francioni explained that the stock exchange environment has changed and that things that were thought impossible in the past, now suddenly seem possible, the report continued. A recent report stated that Nasdaq had offered GBP 2.277bn for LSE.
